4. OPERATIONSTOBECARRIEDOUTBEFORETHESTARTUP
4.1 Cleaning
• Makesurethatthedistributionsystemiscleanandthatthedistributionnozzlesarecorrectlypositionedandfreeofanykind
ofblockage.
• Checkifthewaterbasiniscompletelyclean,ifnot,cleanitusingwaterunderpressure.
4.2 Inspectionandchecking
• Checktheanchori
ngofthetower,thefansandmotorsandmakesuretheyarecorrectlyandsecurelytightened.
• Inspectthemotorsbysight,checkingthattheyhavebeencorrectlyinstalled.
• Checktheconnectionsoftheterminalboxesofthemotors.
• Makethefanturnforaninstant,makingsurethatittur
nseasilyandinthecorrect direction,withoutanyunusual noiseor
friction.
5. STARTUP
5.1 Secondarycircuit
1. Fillthecoldwaterbasinthroughthemake‐upwaterpipeor,betterstill,bymeansofflexiblehoseinsertedprovisionallyinto
thebasin.
2. Adjustthefloatarmofthemake‐upvalvetoensurethelevelismaintainedaround25mmbelowtheoverflowlevel.
3. Switchontheele
ctricpump,checkingitsconsumption.NEVERRUNTHEPUMPWITHOUTWATERINTHEBASIN!!!
4. Thelevelofwaterinsidethebasin,withtheelectricpumpworking,hastobealwaysabovethesu ction leveloftheelectric
pumpandgrid,inordertoavoidc
avitations.
Thislevelcanbecheckedfromthemanholedoor,withtheelectricpumpworkingandthefan(s)completelystopped.
5. Oncethisregulationhasbeenachieved,thefan(s)motorcanbegintoworkandthecoolingtowerispreparedtostartup.
5.2 Primarycircuit
Once the operations of starting up on the secondary ci
rcuit have been performed, the primary circuit pump will be switched on,
checkingitsconsumption.
VERY IMPORTANT !! THE TOWER MUST NEVER OPERATE WITHOUT HAVING THE FANGUARD AND THE ACCESS DOOR CORRECTLY FITTED. THE
FANMUSTBESTOPPEDBEFORETHEOPERATIONSOFREMOVINGANDREPLACINGTHESEELEMENTSARECARRIEDOUT.
6. OPERATINGINSTRUCTIONS
6.1 TowerPerformance
Inordertoobtaintheappropriateperformancefromthecoolingtower,caremustbetakenthattheflowofbothfluidsarethedesign
ones,thesecondarycircuitwaterdist ributioniscorrect,andthedifferentitemsinthedistributionsystemmustarecleanandclear.
Ifachangeintheseconda
rycircuitwaterflowisrequired,itmightbenecessarytoreplacethenozzles,dependingonthedifference
betweenthedesignflowandthenewrequiredflow.PleaseconsultW‐TECH.
Itisessentialtokeepthecoilclean,asotherwisethecoolingtowerperformancewillbereduced.Itisadvisabl
etovisuallyinspectthe
coilperiodically.Inthesameway,it mustbeconsidered thatthe towerdoes not governheatloadand,therefore,the factthatthe
thermalrange(differencebetweenfluidintheprimarycircuitinletandoutlettemperature)ishigherorlowerthanthedesignda
ta,is
irrelevant.
6.2 Controlofwaterqualityinthecircuits
Controllingthe quality oftherecirculating fluidsisessential, not onlyfor the cooling toweritself but also forall the elements that
make up the cooling circuits. We recommend that companies specialised in fluid conditioning and tr
eatment should be consulted
about the fluids for each circuit. However, some general rules and instructions to be followed for correct circuit control are given
below:

6.2.1 Foulingandblocking
